We help nonprofits do good work better.

We are a service-oriented organization focused on providing direct core support and capacity-building training and resources to our 501(c)(3) nonprofit members. We help nonprofits who provide direct services to, or advocate for, underrepresented communities create, expand, and sustain civic engagement and nonpartisan voter outreach programs.

We also help our member organizations build the organizational capacity needed to support grassroots advocacy and voter engagement initiatives, in addition to their other programs.

We strengthen the nonprofit community through: collaboration, leadership development, and professional training and resources.

We are a member of the State Voices nationwide network of nonpartisan state coalitions.

Building Organizational Capacity

The Nebraska Table’s Member organizations have access to a team comprised of experts in Communications, Organizing, and Data, with extensive experience in areas such as campaign management, legislative advocacy, nonprofit fundraising and development, traditional and digital organizing, and media relations. In addition, our members have access to a statewide network of their nonprofit peers, as well as a national network of state coalitions via the State Voices network.

Building Voter Power

We help nonprofits create, sustain, and grow their nonpartisan voter registration and Get-Out-the-Vote (GOTV) programs by providing funding, training, and access to the Voter Activation Network (VAN).

We also conduct our own GOTV tests and experiments to determine best practices for building local, long-term community capacity and engaging voters on the key issues affecting their lives. The Nebraska Table shares our own GOTV methodology and messaging best practices, as well as results of other independent research, with our members through our weekly member newsletter.

Training & Professional Development

The Nebraska Table provides individualized training to our members based on their Communications, Organizing, and Data needs. We also provide larger capacity-building training such as management, grassroots fundraising, and equity & inclusion via nationally renowned trainers at no cost to our members.

Legislative Advocacy

The Nebraska Table works with coalition partners to facilitate coordinated grassroots Legislative Advocacy campaigns in support of socially responsible public policy. We provide timely updates as bills move through the Nebraska Unicameral, including messaging guidance, field organizing support, and funding for grassroots mobilization campaigns through our Civic Engagement Fund.

Building Collaboration Between Nonprofits

Through our growing membership base and relationships with local, state, and national partners, our members gain access to an expansive network of 501c3 nonprofit organizations working in a variety of direct services, public policy, grassroots advocacy, and/or social justice sectors. The Nebraska Table serves as a central hub of communication for our nonprofit members, providing key organizational updates and events, sharing best practices, and coordinating on messaging and targeting audiences.

Our staff and members work together to connect nonprofits so they can work together collaboratively: sharing resources, reducing duplication of efforts, and expanding the collective reach of their missions and initiatives by working across communities.

Building a Nonprofit Leadership Pipeline

Our paid internship program is open to students, recent graduates or any person seeking experience in organizing, data, and/or communications work as it relates to civic engagement, advocacy, public policy, and nonprofit leadership. Since our launch in 2016, many of our interns have either joined the Nebraska Table as permanent staff, or have been hired by our member organizations.
