Common Cause Nebraska is the Nebraska chapter and of a national entity and one of our founding members. They are a “nonpartisan grassroots organization dedicated to upholding the core values of American democracy. We work to create open, honest, and accountable government that serves the public interest; promote equal rights, opportunity, and representation for all; and empower all people to make their voices heard in the political process” With offices in 30/50 states their website makes it easy to figure out what is happening locally and nationally. They provide an opportunity to dig deeper into issues facing Nebraskans such as “Money in Politics” and “Access for Government”. Under their Take Action drop down menu you can find your elected officials by entering your physical address. It includes both federal and state legislators. If you move forward to can see the bills sponsored by your state representatives, committees they sit on and, any major political contributions. Common Cause makes necessary information more easily accessible and clear.
