Before you vote, get registered and get ready.

ONLINE: Register on our site through Rock the Vote or at the Nebraska Secretary of State’s website.

Complete voter registration before midnight by: 

• PRIMARY: April 27
• GENERAL: October 16

BY MAIL: Download and print a voter registration form. Your voter registration application must be postmarked to your county election commission by:

IN PERSON: Visit your County Election Commission office during normal business hours by:

Voting Early In Person

Vote at your local election office during regular business hours starting:

• PRIMARY: April 13
• GENERAL: October 5

Voting Early By Mail

Voting by mail in Nebraska is easy and safe. Just complete an Early Voting Form and that will tell election officials to mail you a ballot when it's time. Track your ballot by visiting Nebraska's Voter Information Lookup website.

First: Request your vote by mail ballot!

Download and print an application in English or Spanish from your County Election Commission. Request your early voting ballot before close of business by:

• PRIMARY: May 1
• GENERAL: October 23

Fill out the application and sign it.

Next: Return your vote by mail ballot!

Fill out your ballot. IMPORTANT: Be sure to sign the back of the return envelope. This will make sure your vote is counted!

Mail it or email a picture of your application to your County Election Commission with a regular postage stamp. 

Or

Place your ballot in an official drop box. Your ballot must be received by your election office before 8:00 pm CT on Election Day.

Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. CST on Election Day:

• GENERAL: November 3

If you are in line when polls close, stay in line — you are still allowed to vote!

Running into trouble confirming your voter registration at your polling place? A provisional ballot allows you to cast your vote in the event that an issue arises with your registration. You can simply request a provisional ballot from a poll worker! Common reasons why a provisional ballot may be used include being registered under an old address or not returning an early voting ballot.

You can request assistance when casting your ballot in a variety of ways, including language interpretation, curbside voting, use of a ballot marking device or teletypewriter, or further in-person help. If you require assistance of any kind, let poll workers. 

Nebraska voters will be required to present an accepted photo identification in order to vote.
