Winner-Take-All: Not in Nebraska

Keep Nebraska elections the Nebraska way.

Out-of-touch politicians and special interests want to ignore the values and traditions that make each of our communities unique. Don’t let them. Contact your senator and tell them to oppose LR24CA.

Nebraskans know democracy works best when decisions are made at a local level and in community with our neighbors. Don’t let special interests and a few politicians make extreme changes to Nebraska’s election system to silence the power of our voices.

A split electoral vote:

  • is a historical legacy that sets our state apart and unites Nebraskans in our heritage
  • allows Nebraskans of all backgrounds to have their votes heard
  • elevates our state’s important issues on the national level
  • from Nebraska has never tipped the balance of power, making it an unnecessary power grab that silences thousands of votes in favor of wealthy special interests
Where does this issue stand now?

Senator Meyer (District 41) has prioritized LR24CA, which is a constitutional amendment to turn Nebraska into a winner-take-all state and put this attempt on the November ballot. This issue will be debated by the Nebraska Legislature in the coming weeks.

LR24CA already passed committee in 2025, which means it can be brought to full floor debate as early as the week of February 23.
