The Nebraska Civic Engagement Table (“the Table”) seeks candidates for our 2019 Organizer School - a nonprofit training and placement program. Through this program individuals will work full time with the Table staff for the first six to eight weeks of the contract learning all aspects of organizing, including field, data, and communications skills. Following the training period with the Table, organizers will be placed with one of our over sixty member nonprofits for the remainder of the year long contract (roughly eleven months).
The Table Organizing School is open to students, recent graduates or any person seeking experience in organizing as it relates to civic engagement, community connectedess, advocacy, public policy and nonprofit leadership.
Successful candidates will gain experience primarily in field organizing, managing and participating in activities like: volunteer recruitment, canvassing, phone banking, predictive scoring, advanced targeting, and post-election assessment. Organizers will work in civic engagement and community connectedness programs, voter registration, and other Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) efforts.
